A combination event for radio control rock crawler and scale truck enthusiasts alike. $5 crawl comp starts at 9:00am with class tech check and signups, comp runs starting at 9:30, wrapping up by 1:00pm for the Scale Safari to begin. Free swap meet onsite all day. Comp entry is optional, and is a flat fee of $5 if you choose to compete. Let me start with the Scale Safari concept! If you enjoy trailing with your friends and taking pictures and videos of your scale rigs in action, this is up your alley. If you have Overland style rigs, bring them, but this is basically meant to be a good old run-what-you-brung trail event to enjoy with friends. We will have an extended trail set up with scale "wildlife" throughout, as well as a few scale scenes. Here's where I hope you as an attendee can help: I wanna see any scale scenes you have created, any scale campsites, garages, houses, gas stations, you name it! I want to incorporate those into the trail experience for the day, weather conditions permitting. Anyone who brings me a scene to put in the trail network for the day gets a free $5 comp entry. Let's see those dioramas, and let's be creative! Trail runs start at 1:00pm, right after the $5 comp. Below are the revised class rules for TCC $5 Comps! Read closely, but don't worry, we will get you situated in a comp class! TCC 2025 Rules for $5 Comps: Class 1 Linked: Pretty much needs to be sorcca 2023 legal, with a flat skid, 4.19 tires. Winching allowed. Hard body preferred, lexan will have a small penalty per course if used. Class 1 Leaf Sprung: Same as Class 1 linked, with leaf springs instead of links. IFS/leaf combos allowed with a small penalty per course if used. Hard body preferred. Stock RTR: C-channel ready to run platforms, 4.75" max tire size, two wheel steering only, no winches, can be equipped but not used. Advanced RTR: C-channel or flat plate ready to run platforms with enhanced design features like DIG and unlocking differentials. 4.75" max tire size. No winches, can be equipped but not used. Class 2 Unlimited: 10 1/2” max width, 13” max wheelbase, servo on axle ok, DIG/4WS allowed, diff locks allowed, 1.9 4.75” or smaller tires (stretched 1.9 tires on 2.2 wheels for the big wheel look is ok), body must resemble a real vehicle in 1/10 scale. Must use chassis originally designed to be c2 legal. No sporty chassis style allowed. Steep skid angles allowed. Winches allowed! Alpha 1.9: This is more of a run what you brung kinda class, cheater rigs basically, 1.9” tire under 5”, 13 1/2” wheelbase max, 11 1/2” width max, sporty/ shafty chassis’s ok( still no MOA), body must resemble a real vehicle. No winches or 4WS. Weight hangers no issue! Alpha 2.2: Same characteristics as Alpha 1.9 with bigger wheels and tires possible, and 4WS is allowed. Just to be clear we want anyone who wants to compete to be able to do so. That being said, small build discrepancies during tech check may be allowed. For example: if someone is missing a rear bumper and drove two hours to get there, I'm still gonna let that truck compete. I will go over the course penalty system and how our judges will score you when we begin on event day. Pack a lunch, hope to see you there!
